ABOUT US

Our Mission Statement - The Chase County ‘Old School’ Development District is saving history and creating opportunities through a mission to save the built history of the old school and maintain neighborhood integrity by cultivating community engagement, developing opportunities, and ensuring fiscal sustainability.
Our board, including Lee Anne and Wade Coester, Sue Alexander, Kay Wealand, Gwen Runde, David Glibbery, Nyla Gibbons, and Taliyah Logsdon, has been working to restore and revitalize the Old School for community use.
With the support of volunteers, donors, and local partnerships, we have:
-
Renovated classrooms, kitchen, and restrooms
-
Hosted a variety of community events
-
Created a space for gatherings, programs, and activities
-
Begun major improvements, including installing HVAC for year-round use
We’re proud of the progress that’s been made and look forward to continuing to build a space the community can use and enjoy.
Our Impact
The Old School has quickly become a place where people come together. Through the work of volunteers, board members, and community support, the building has been brought back to life as a space for events, programs, and connection. From community gatherings and local events to ongoing improvements and new opportunities, the Old School is once again serving a meaningful role in Chase County.
This space has provided opportunities for people to connect, share experiences, and be part of something local and lasting.
Looking Ahead
As improvements continue and new programs develop, the Old School will remain focused on being a place that is welcoming, useful, and rooted in the community.
There is more to come, and we are excited to continue growing alongside the people we serve.
