Event Spotlight: Beer, Food
and Live Music
JJ Johns - Radius Brewing Company, Emporia
JJ Johns moved to Emporia over 20 years ago and quickly fell in love with the area and a Chase County girl, Julia Wilson. Around 2010 he began brewing beer as a hobby and has been expanding his knowledge of the craft ever since.
Today, JJ is the owner and head brewer of Radius Brewing Company in Emporia, where he continues perfecting the art of turning water, malt, hops, and yeast into great beer. Guests at our event will have the opportunity to sample some of his handcrafted brews during the beer tasting.
Dr. Mary Kleinsorge - Flint Hills Musician
"Dr. Mary" Kleinsorge grew up singing to the cattle in the hills west of Bazaar and playing for rodeo cowboys at Ken's Place. She plays multiple instruments and her husband plays bass and sings along. After she spent many years on the road, singer-songwriter Sonny James introduced her to Nashville, but she decided the lifestyle wasn't for her. Many of her original songs were written from her heart about life in the Flint Hills and her family. Come let Mary and her husband Craig remind you what a blessing it is to have Chase County roots.
Delicious tastings from Jacalitos Restaurant will be paired with each of the 5 sampled beers. Space is limited. Reserve a space at 620-340-9634.
